Bills, bills, bills! Everyone could use a break on their utility bills. When we were flipping through Southern Living Magazine we found some great ways to save money around the house. Everything from filling cracks with toothpaste, to lowering the temperature of your water heater. We highlighted some of our favorites for you.

1. Vacuum your Filter.
Use a hand held vacuum or the hose feature on your vacuum and clean that filter! This quick tip could cut your filter cost in half.

2. Shorten your dryer Vent Hose
Detach your hose and clean it out. Cut the hose down so that you only have enough space to pull your dryer out a few inches from the wall. Not only will your dryer run more efficiently, but it will dry your clothes faster!

3. Lower the Temperature of your Water Heater
